Know Your Rights Trainings

We provide Know Your Rights trainings for anyone, but especially for people who have a criminal record or know someone who has a criminal record. Our trainings focus on how to clear a criminal record through expungement or sealing, housing and employment discrimination related to a criminal background, background checks, voting, and interactions with police. Please note, we provide information about the sealing and expungement process, eligibility, and connection to legal services, but we cannot file petitions to expunge or seal records at outreach events. Trainings are led by community organizers with lived experience in the criminal legal system, members of our Leadership Council of system-impacted advocates and former CGLA clients, and attorneys.
