Pro Bono Creates Tangible Impact on the Lives of Thousands
In the last three-and-a-half years, pro bono attorneys and law students have provided free legal assistance to over 14,000 visitors to the CGLA Expungement Help Desk. Click here to read more from the October issue of the CBA Record.
Impact
Douglas had worked in a plant for more than thirty years when it closed in 2005. He found himself on the job market for the first time in decades and was continuously denied jobs due to a single misdemeanor assault conviction from 1977.
CGLA submitted a clemency petition on Douglas' behalf in 2006, and he is currently awaiting a response from the governor.
